L&T Infotech is one of the Companies having Strict Eligibility Criteria. They put constraints on Marks, Number of Backlogs and age as well.
L&T Infotech visited our college and students from two other colleges were also appearing for the process. The best part was the First 15 toppers were exempted from the Aptitude round and I was one of them. As I haven’t faced the Aptitude Round I cannot explain it in detail, but according to my friends review difficulty level was moderate and it consisted of all sort of questions (Analytical, Verbal, Non Verbal & few Technical questions)
While others were appearing for Aptitude round I was going through my next round i.e. GD. The HR has brought his own unique list of topics for the GD & no topic was repeated. The HR was declaring the results on the spot & she was selecting only 3-4 candidates from group of 15. Only our group was the only one from which maximum i.e. 8 candidates were selected.
Immediately after our GD, we were told to select one topic & write an essay. After 10 minutes the HR collected the essay as well as all the documents and told us to wait outside for further instructions.
On the next day I appeared for the Technical Interview. It lasted for about 20-25 minutes. I was asked about the latest technologies, Evolution of technology followed by my mini Projects & BE Project. I took around 5-6 minutes to explain my project in detail and kept my explanation very interesting and interactive. The Interviewer was satisfied with my overall interview & didn’t ask me any Technical Questions. After 1 hour the results were declared & I was told to be ready for HR interview.
I appeared for the HR interview in the evening & this was the one that I can never forget in my life. I would like to portray the interview.
I entered into the room, she asked me to sit.
Interviewer How was your day?
Me: Excellent, Mam
Interviewer: You liked our Placement Process, how was it?
Me: It was good; everything was in an organized manner.
Interviewer No, You have to tell me at least one flaw in our process otherwise I’ll reject you right away.
(I was completely shocked by her weird expressions and question)
Me: As I said mam everything was good, but if you want me to tell at least one flaw, then I would say if the aptitude results would have been declared faster, then it would have been more comfortable for the Candidates.
Interviewer: Okay.
(& then she started going through my resume)
Interviewer You have good results. Okay Pramod, tell me what makes you think that you are Creative.
Me: Gave the explanation
Interviewer Okay, I’ll give you 10 Rs. Make something creative out of it, to eat.
Me: Sorry mam, I didn’t understand.
Interviewer Like I’ll buy Monaco biscuits of 5 rs. And I’ll buy Sev & onion of remaining 5 rs, make a Biscuit sandwich and eat.
(I was like what the hell, & was completely hanged).
Me: Mam, I’ll buy Maggie worth rs 5 & garnish it with Sev.
Interviewer No no, you can’t use my item (sev), think something different
(I was Unable to understand in what direction the interview was going. Why the hell is she asking me all the cookery stuff?)
Me: Okay Mam if you are using Sev then I’ll use Farsan.
(& she laughed and said)
Interviewer Okay Pramod it was nice meeting to you, do you have any questions?
(I was completely tensed, like she hasn’t asked me anything related to my Engineering or my Extracurricular Activities which was one of my Strong points.)
Me: Mam, what kind of training would I get after joining…
(This question of mine was just a formality so that I can find some reason to extend my interview. She was explaining for about 1 minute and I swear I didn’t hear a single word what she was telling as I was busy in thinking what to do next.)
Me: Mam, I have done Java Certification Course, do I need to do some additional certification courses?
Interviewer Good, have you got any Certification then?
Me: No, mam I have done the Course and was unable to give the certification exam due to our Tech fest as I was the head of the committee.
(She again started reading my resume which she had kept aside & then I started with all my extra-curricular activities & told everything which I thought she must know).
(Now, I could see that she was totally impressed and told me to leave.)
She asked lot many students to sell Car, water bottle, Pen, Stapler etc., made someone sing. I am sorry to say this but overall she was acting like Raghu of Roadies, maybe that was her judging strategy. But overall it was a good experience.
The final results were announced at around 9:00 pm and I was one of the selected ones.
